To save money I’m downgrading my domain ahlstroem.net from hosting to domain name only with one.com.

I have a couple of sites on this domain and they have been hosted at one.com until now. I am moving everything except the mail to a Raspberry Pi connected to my ISP modem. See post Raspberry Pi 4 server at home.

Mail accounts Link to heading

So far the mail accounts have been located on one.com’s mail server but that service is not included in their domain name only subscription. The solution here is to set up user accounts at GMX mail service and use Cloudflare’s email routing to route @ahlstroem.net addresses.

Setup Link to heading

• Setup a GMX mail account. Name it thomas.ahlstroem@gmx.com for use with thomas@ahlstroem.net.
• Setup an email route at Cloudflare where thomas@ahlstroem.net points to thomas.ahlstroem@gmx.com
• Optional: Setup Thunderbird or other mail app with following settings:
  • Account name: thomas@ahlstroem.net
  • Email address: thomas.ahlstroem@gmx.com
  • Reply-to address: thomas@ahlstroem.net
